Section 10 Consultation now open for Shireland CBSO Academy

Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust is proposing to open a brand-new secondary school in the West Bromwich area in collaboration with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in September 2023.

The new school will be called Shireland CBSO Academy. It will be a six-form entry 11-18 secondary school and sixth form, with 150 students per year group in Key Stages 3 and 4, and 60 students per year group in the sixth form.

The school will be a non-selective state school welcoming children from all backgrounds and abilities, serving families from across Sandwell. The academy’s students will be expected to fully immerse themselves in music education and, in many cases, will already have a musical background.

While the school will be located in Providence Place in West Bromwich, it will accept applications from across the borough of Sandwell.

As part of the pre-opening programme, we are required to undertake a public consultation. The consultation period for Shireland CBSO Academy will run until 5pm on Tuesday 14 June 2022.
