Shireland CBSO Academy Developing Partnership with Laney Amplification

Shireland CBSO Academy was delighted to host representatives from Laney Amplification for a visit that could mark the beginning of a promising partnership.

Established in 1967 by Lyndon Laney in West Bromwich just a few miles from where the Academy stands now, Laney Amplification stands as a pivotal force in the music industry. The company is renowned for its unwavering commitment to innovation and quality in amplification technology. Over the decades, Laney has set the benchmark in music, catering to artists including Tony Iommi and Lacuna Coil and aspiring artists worldwide. It is still based locally with the head office in Halesowen.

Today, under the leadership of James Laney, Lyndon’s son, Laney continues to push the boundaries of amplifier technology and support musicians globally. From helping shape the sound of rock‘n’roll to revolutionizing modern music production with cutting-edge digital models, Laney’s dedication to musical craftsmanship and understanding musicians’ needs have earned it a global reputation.

During the visit, Lyndon and James Laney and Lee Wrathe, Director of Sales and Marketing at Headstock Group, toured the Academy and its facilities, which included a preview of one of its band rehearsals for an upcoming concert in support of the Salvation Army, showcasing the school’s vibrant and diverse musical talents.

Following the tour, discussions turned to forming a partnership between Laney and Shireland CBSO Academy. This partnership aims to provide students with unique insights into the music industry and projects, including music technology.

David Green, Principal at Shireland CBSO Academy, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Lyndon and James Laney and Lee Waithe to Shireland CBSO Academy.
