Sir Mark Grundy, CEO

As CEO of the Trust, Sir Mark Grundy is responsible for the management and operation of the Trust and is passionate about ensuring that all pupils are given access to an exceptional education. Sir Mark was knighted in 2006 for his services to education and technology in the UK; his emphasis on excellence is something that he drives through all schools within the Trust to create exceptional outcomes for all.


Jane Kellas, Finance & Compliance Director

As Finance Director, Jane is the Lead Officer for Governance Finance and Compliance with an overview of the Trust’s operations. Her key responsibilities include the overseeing of budgeting of the Trust accounts, Training and sharing of good practice across the Trust and managing the development of the Governance and Financial management Systems.


Melanie Adams, HR Director

As Director of Human Resources, Melanie is responsible for overseeing the HR operations of schools within the Trust, as well as schools within the region that pay for the service through our trading company Shireland Learning Ltd. Her role includes overseeing recruitment and any staffing issues across the schools, both secondary and primary. 


George Faux, COO of Shireland Learning Ltd

George Faux is the Principal of West Bromwich Collegiate Academy. George was previously the Senior Vice Principal at Shireland Collegiate Academy for four years.  Throughout his time at Shireland Collegiate Academy, he helped lead the Academy through three ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted inspections.


David Irish, Secondary Education Lead

David Irish is the Principal of Shireland Collegiate Academy in Smethwick, Secondary Lead for the Trust and is a Specialist Leader in Education. He has worked in education for 21 years and has been a member of the Executive Leadership Team at Shireland for the last 5. He has worked on Senior Leadership Teams both in Middle and Secondary settings.


Lady Kirsty Grundy, Primary Education Lead

Lady Kirsty Grundy draws on over two decades of teaching and leadership experience across the Primary and Secondary phases. As Primary Education Lead for the Trust, she believes that harnessing technology for learning can enable, engage and enthuse students and raise school standards. As well as being Principal of Shireland Technology Primary, she leads the Primary Trust team and together they make sure that the primaries deliver the Trust’s high expectations of providing the best technology-enabled opportunities for staff and pupils.
