First students visit Shireland CBSO Academy site

We had some very special visitors to the Shireland CBSO Academy site last week.

Some of the Academy’s successful Year 7 music aptitude programme applicants were lucky enough to be the first students to see inside the school. It was wonderful to see what we hope are the start of great friendships being formed and, who knows, maybe the makings of a future band!

We also had some lovely feedback from applicants’ parents following the visit:

“Thank you so much for the opportunity earlier today to visit the site. I’m not sure I ever thought I’d be this excited about a senior school. After the open day, my son said said yours was the ONLY school he wanted to go to.  Getting in on the music aptitude programme has given him an amazing opportunity, and he knows it. He keeps saying how he can’t wait to get master classes from the CBSO. I have high hopes of the vision of this school.  As a parent, I’m less concerned about his future because I can see a career path now, and a road to take him there.”

“My son has a place for September 23 and we went for a site visit today. We were blown away by the facilities planned.”

We would like to thank construction partners Galliford Try for taking the time to show us around.
